The“Requiem without words only for orchestra” is, as the title itself says, apiece which was written only for orchestra without voices and chorus. It isgrouped according to a liberal interpretation in the various parts of arequiem. The individual parts in this composition have the task of expressingan unmentioned religious text. It was written in memory of G.F. Ghedini who wasthe teacher and brotherly friend of the composer and in remembrance of HermannScherchen, the interpreter of many of his works.
